The Neverending Time

 And then you're here again.

At the start of the post, where a new world unfurls

And as it does, time starts to uncurl,

Ticking away slowly, never does it stop,

Ticking in your ears, until your brain pops.

Each time you come to this website,

You arrive at a new start.

Where new time is there to bother you,

There to tear you apart.

You may disappear,

But time never does,

Once it starts, it can't stop,

Like  this post because,

Well, I'll leave you to it,

To finish reading this poem,

So that you can start again,

And maybe never go home.

Now that you're almost at the end,

I suggest you exit now itself to avoid any pain.

Because you're about to encounter this  surprising bend...

  2. Shriyannnnn!!! You have mastered the art of circle poems at this young age ! To come up with a poem which whose ends can be threaded and at the same time , does not lose its coherence takes a lot of maturity and skill!! Way to go kannama!!! Bring ‘em on!!!

  3. And I am loving the way that you have tethered the poem to the concept of time - it goes round and round as well ! My mind = blown!!!

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
