Are you feeling sad,
Are you feeling low?
Do you wish to fly like a bird,
But can't do so?
Do you wish to swim like a dolphin,
But can't do it just yet?
Do you wish to be free of worries,
But your unbreakable bond with it is set?
Are you surrounded by shadows,
That smother you till you drop?
Are you getting pulled into a black hole,
Your worries eat you, and you can't stop?
Or perhaps you're scared,
Of the dark and doom surrounding you,
You feel like it's closing in,
And there's nothing you can do.
You're lost in a land of confusion,
Where things are tangled together,
Just like your poor mind,
Which is in a messy weather.
But let me tell you what to do,
To beat up all your worries,
There's no problem that can't be undone,
We'll chase it all away in a flurry.
Has it been weeks,
Since your lips curled into a smile?
Has it been weeks,
Since you used to laugh all the while?
Why, you can do it now too!
Does there have to be a reason to smile?
But if you feel too depressed to,
Just give it a while!
Think about the shadows,
Which disappears when light arrives,
Think about your sadness,
Which shall disappear when you smile...
You'll laugh about it later,
Trust me that you will,
There will be ups and downs,
In life, which is like a hill.
The ups are hard to conquer,
But the downs are easy to overcome,
Ease up your worries,
And in the best way you can, have fun!
Laugh your worries away,
It's not like they'll last forever,
But if you laugh, they'll fear the sound,
And into thin air they'll disappear.
If the present is dark,
Then the future will be bright,
Because if there's happiness within,
There will be light.
Laughter is the best medicine to cure any disease or sadness. But to overcome sadness in your own
ReplyDeletepoetic skill is excellent and appreciable. Please continue it. Keep it up. Fine
Shriyandhaa I'm really surprised about your writing on the value of laughter and the way in which you express about the worries starting the poem with birds, dolphins ,bringing shadows and lights etc. Unless you have deep observations you can't write about such a wonderful medicine of laughter. Amazing words coined in your poem as usual with a message to the human kind. May God bless you abundantly.

Nice coinage of expressions and emotions of life All around on clear observation in nice phrases. I enjoyed the phrase Meaning "Dark and bright" are complementary to each other and follow one another" clear thoughts by 11 year old kid. Keep it, Shryandga!
