Lazy Greeny

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful place in the jungle called Sectville. It was home to all the poor insects, who were homeless. Most of the village had grasshoppers, ones who work really hard. Among these young grasshoppers, there was a lazy one called Greeny. He would often waste time playing his fiddle and gossiping, but he was serious during winter. He stores food during autumn, and during winter, he makes sure his house is well protected from the strong winds. Sometimes, he would borrow the leftovers of the ants who live next to him.    One day, Greeny had no money left, so he planned of selling his old radio, which used to cost a lot. As he walked about the village, searching for someone interested, he met this funny looking cricket with goat legs and man hands and yak horns. He said, "Hello, young man. I am a mighty cricket who was cursed by a dog. Don't be scared, I'm meant to be like this. You must be poor. Here, have these." He said, handing Greeny so...

Sunday and the Mermaid

Once upon a time, there lived a little girl named Sunday. She and her family lived by the seaside, in a big house. On weekends and holidays, Sunday would often feel the cool Breeze, in the mornings. In the evenings, she would usually play with her friends by the sea or stroll across the city park.   She'll go to her school in the city with her elder sister, Saturday. And on evenings, she'll spend time with her dad, who sells provisions at the beach. One day, Sunday was walking past the shore, when she saw a huge whale. Her cousin brother, who also lived by the seaside loved to fish. It was his hobby. So, Sunday thought she could call her brother over, and he'll enjoy fishing the huge whale. Sunday rung her brother, but to her dismay, her brother had gone to the city market to buy vegetables. So, Sunday planned to fish that whale herself.  She fetched her boat and oar, and grabbed her fishing pole. She carefully looked out for the whale. But then, something startled her ...

But where's my present?

Christmas and Summer, along with their parents were decorating their house with dazzling Christmas decorations. "I can't imagine how exciting it is to welcome Santa! I'm so excited about the presents we'll get, the candies we'll get, and much more!" Said Christmas, hanging the streamers.  "Yes, and I wish Santa had a grotto, where we could go and tell him what we want. Poor Santa, even if he's an old man, he is capable of delivering presents to billions and trillions of kids, all around the world!" Said Summer. After hanging the lights onto the big Christmas tree, Christmas and Summer's father came to them panting. "Kids, we'll be going to Santa's grotto now," Summer and Christmas jumped for joy, putting their jackets and hats on. They left for the grotto. "I really didn't know that Santa did have a grotto!" Said Christmas with pleasure. "So did I," Said Summer, looking at the beautiful snowmen buil...

Happy Children's Day!!

Children's Day, also Nehru's Birthday falls today. A great and jovial day for children. Let's look at the story by me. Story One day, July and May were walking past the roadside, where they saw a Vendor's snack shop, which had a sign: HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY. May wasn't sure if it was real. July grabbed May's hand to start the journey to their house with her.  Back at home, they Googled: CHILDREN'S DAY. And just what July expected: 14th OF NOVEMBER - NEHRU'S BIRTHDAY (CHILDREN'S DAY) turned up in the phone screen.  Every year, July and May would send postcards for Children's day, but this Children's Day seems so gloomy without July and May's postcards. July and May's cousins, April and June were eagerly waiting for the ringing of the Postman's cycle, but they received no sign of it.  What were July and May to do? No postcards, no stamps, no nothing left at their house. What are they going to do? May suddenly reaches out to a pa...

GSB - Chapter 17 & 18 - What trap to keep? & Guessing this is the final touch!

What trap to keep?   “Samhitha, the robot has arrived. We shall take your robot as the trap. But what other traps can we keep? I’m all out of ideas…. I just can’t think! I can only think of ideas for my blog. Poems, Write ups, Stories, Blog New Year, Tamil, Oh my gosh! Only that in my mind?” I said to Samhitha. “Ok, ok. Shall we keep a Glue Drop trap? I still remember what you told about those sticky Glue Drops. We could place them on a paper ball, and leave them in front of the entrance. And a Finger Trap on our notebook, in case, everyone would dare to touch it! And the robot trap. As it dances, It would go and hit our enemies! Especially Saketh, because he hates going near robots!” Samhitha said. I liked her idea, and it was planned. Finally! But what else do we need? We felt something was missing…..                             ...

GSB - Chapter 15 & 16 - Of course, we never Forget! & No, Not this!

Of course, we never Forget!   We really didn’t forget about it! Many days passed, and again, GSB, GSB, GSB! We then discussed about the song for GSB. “Dictate the notes!” Samhitha shouted. I dictated the western notes as loud as I can. But nothing seemed to reach her, loud and clear. “B D E E E D E G G A G A” I dictated. But all the opposites fell into Samhitha’s ears. “D B G G G” Said Samhitha. I got irritated as she dictated the wrong notes. I then typed. She then finally wrote everything correct with her blue, bright pen.                                      No, Not this!   Samhitha and I thought all were finished, and after some days we will open our team. But No No No! I changed my mind. I then wrote another song for GSB. “Why di?” Samhitha asked in our next call. I said nothing. T...

GSB - Chapter 15 & 16 - Back to School, All not feeling Cool & Missing Much Time

Back to School, All not feeling Cool   Wednesday had arrived, and Samhitha’s school started. Back to school, all not cool. We all became restless. We didn’t want to miss our GSB discussions. We wanted to talk. Samhitha and I, having dozens of classes, how are we going to talk? I have reached my higher classes and I was left with nothing but homework. Homework, homework, homework. But still there was very little time for us to talk. We never saved it, we spent it! So we were never idle. But that’s a good thing, right? So my mother and father, her mother and father, all put to rest. We never asked them what to do! We were left with a chatty corner, a classy corner, a school corner, and, of course, School is divided into 2 parts. Homework, and school.                                      Missing mu...

GSB - Chapter 13 & 14 - Plan shared, Back to Peace state & Push it Aside

Plan Shared, Back to Peace state   Days passed and soon the plan was shared with Samhitha. We were back to the peace state. But we had it in our mind that we should never chat when Saketh was around. We planned that only when Saketh had classes, we should talk. Soon, as Saketh learnt about our GSB lang, we created a new one. I named it as ‘The GSB Giseba’. Samhitha started to appreciate me. “Hey you are really a smarty pant di! Your ideas are great!” We declared it as our language.                                  Push it Aside   That’s when the door squeaked. Saketh entered the room! We both shouted. Perima drove him out of the room. Samhitha’s mind pushed the GSB language aside. “Perhaps, shall we only talk about crafting? This Saketh boy is always breaking our language path. Let’s leave it alone for som...

GSB - Chapter 11 & 12 - Check Marks & Efforts all into garbage

Check marks   Days hopped off the Earth. Samhitha had practiced drawing the logo and the planet. She also stuck the pictures on the door. I had left all the crafty confusions behind. I had to do all the hard stuff. But I finished the wand, which was quite easy. 3 check marks had fallen on Samhitha’s book. But will I finish all the remaining crafts before the summer holidays? Will we be able to open GSB on the same day?                          What’s the ending result?                               Efforts all into ...

GSB - Chapter 9 & 10 - Big Discussion Finally Comes to an End & Happiness Inserted

Big Discussion Finally Comes to an End   So we voice recorded 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 messages. 2 hours flew by. Finally, we came up with an idea. Samhitha won. I lost. Samhitha’s choice had left a mark. We added the gem to the cart. Dad ordered it. Samhitha’s dad had fulfilled her wish too. Mine was coming by Monday, and her one was coming by Saturday.                             Happiness Inserted   Happiness has finally been inserted into my mind. The book had been delivered. Samhitha was very happy. I started sending her photos and videos. Samhitha and I slowly started to understand how to operate the book. More, more, more!!! Samhitha’s book arrived! Finally! Our minds finally stopped jumping, they settled down. But it really wasn’t time for us to open GSB! Lot of craft...
