Endless Cosmos, Space and Our Universe

Forlorn twinkling dots
Adorned the black night sky
And three stars in one row
Shone eccentrically, apart from the rest
And right below the trio
A rather lonely duo.
And a bit above the three,
Orion's action-figure pose indeed,
As the one constellation flickered,
Together, utterly,
As half of the others
Remained submerged in an array of clouds.
And that one star in Orion
That shone along with, yet alone,
Betelgeuse, as bright as a planet,
Does it still breathe, or are the assumptions true?
Is it a supernova, betelgeuse?
Will we find out, if it still remains?
My, so many thoughts,
And queries
Race up to my mind.
How many more things out there,
Waiting to be discovered?
Will we discover all of them,
Before our timeline to extinction?
Does time have a beginning, or an end?
Is our universe just one of many?
So we actually exist, or are we just holograms?
And as I stare at the mysterious sky,
All I can do is wonder,
How?
How did this all come into existence?
How will it all perish billions of years later?
And how,
How will we fathom and solve
This one big mystery?
THE one big mystery,
An enigma, a riddle, a puzzle with no fitting
Pieces,
The mystery that makes us up,
The mystery
Of the universe
Of our world
Of everything.

  1. Yes, it is mystery of the universe. But after some more years you can understand it. Raising a question is easy. But to solve a mystery require lot of patience.please wait. You have to wait for an answer.

  3. Dear Shriyandhaa,
Its wonderful to see that you are thinking about the mysteries of the Universe and asking the right questions. The human race has evolved to a place where we are now only because questions were asked and people started venturing out to get answers for it. Mankind is still learning more and more about the mysteries of the Universe, depths of Oceans, and even about human anatomy. We are still finding new answers every day for many things around us. So continue your search and exploration. You’ll find more and more very interesting facts when you do so.
As always, you have written your thoughts in the form of a beautiful poem. 👏👏
    May God Bless you!

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
