Harry Potter: The Brave or The Blockhead?

"The Boy Who Lived", as they say, Why was Harry Potter the prey? And how did he survive his predator? Are the secrets known, or are still undercover? Harry Potter, the "valiant", the "brave", How many people did he actually save? Was he even really that significant? Or was he just someone with unwise exuberance? He was one with courage, I'd agree, of course, But I'll tell you why he's not in Ravenclaw, He's filled with nonsensical mindsets, And dangerous ideas that can make one fret. Was he as powerful as we were told he was? I believe it's not real and thus, I shall conclude that Harry Potter, however, Is not the figure we all imagine. But let me stop you right here, Before you threaten me to boot me with fear, Harry Potter was famous not because of his power, But the protection from his mother, just an extra layer. But Harry Potter was a daredevil, venturous boy, He showcased personalities none could show or tell, And he won victory a...

The Secret of The Bounce

With each ounce of force you give, It bounces higher and higher, With each bounce a fall, And each retraction a success to be recalled.   Even a miniscule ball, with a world a 100 times bigger, Will try harder each time, to soar higher and higher. If even an over-active, tiny ball can overcome failure, Let me ask: why can't you too be a trier? If you can get put out, By the failure that puts you down, You can easily spring back up, Turn your frown upside down. With each fail a trampoline, With each hard fall an energetic pounce, When your feet touch the ground, Full of power, back up you bounce. Failure is the biggest help, You can get to reach success. Because each time it drops you down, It boosts your desperation, bringing it to excess. And with that excess desperation, You might want to try harder. With better resources and mindsets the next time, Higher up you'll fly, you'll reach farther. See, you learn from your mistakes, You don't let them discourage you, With...

The Rain Sonnet

(Italian/Petrarchan Sonnet - ABBAABBA CDCCDC) Rain, now, rain, Drip from the sky and weather so mellow, With each drop leaving behind a lasting echo, As I watch the downpour from my windowpane, Pour too hard then you're a pain, Causing storms that we do not desire, And when you want to be you're too dire, But do reach the ground with certain restrains. When you arrive, come over with a soothing breeze, We need you to nurture tender plants, Your cold, pacifying water for the trees,  Your calm, melodic pace will ease,  Many racing minds, and can break any trance, Rain down all you want, set yourself free.

The Mirror Sonnet

(English/Shakespeare Sonnet - ABABCDCD EFEFGG) Into the mirror I peer, And I see the wonderful me. With my features depicted clear, But there is more in it than the things I see, There is a mirror inside of everyone,  Which will reflect what you inflict on it, Like how you shine a mirror on the sun, You get back what you gave; your face is lit. You give happiness to get happiness, You be kind to see kind,  You behave like a mess to deal with a mess, So what you give is what you find. It doesn't mean you have to be a mirror; You forget the savage and just give cheer.
