I Touched A Star

I want to touch a star,

I want to travel far,

But something always holds me back

From exploring the sky's starry track,

I sat in my room,

Brooding over a plan to escape

But when I saw the moon,

I fell into a dreamy daze...

I was falling backwards,

Into the vast sky,

I fell out of Earth,

And with great mirth

I found that I WAS ABOVE THE SKY!!!!!

I saw the moon,

I saw the sun

I saw good Earth,

Oh, that was fun!

I saw Venus,

I saw old mars

I saw Saturn

A saw loads far...

I flew, and I flew

I flew through and through

But I stopped mid-turn

'Cause I saw a bright thing

I saw something I yearned

I saw it flash and blink...

I wanted to touch a star,

And I did touch a star!

It's really not that far,

'Cause dreams are not that far

'Cause if you dream it,

You can do it,

And catch it,

And see?

To find dreams is not that easy

But they will be if you DREAM

With your heart and yes,

You can touch a star!

  2. Shriyannn!!! Such a beautiful poem!!! You are so right in saying that if you really seek hard and really pursue your dreams , there’s nothing that you can’t achieve in this world !! The power of seeking is huge and it increases your chances of straining your dreams manifold! There’s a line from a book that I really hope you read when you grow up - it goes like this ‘ And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.’
Your dream is a beautiful one , and with Almighty’s blessings and your dedication , you are sure to achieve all of them da kanna !!!

  3. Superb poem. I feel that you can dream again, for we can get another poem about stars. Sky is the limit for imagination. You can travel in space with a great pace to reach the sky and see see the world and Earth from there. But one thing you remember is that you have to accept the reality of life and lead a normal life, for that alone is practically possible. Imagination is like a sleep. Once you wake up you are going to carry out daily routine. All is for the good. Take it in the right way. Have a wonderful day.
Be cheerful and have fun with your friends as it will change your mind. All is well if we are well.

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
