What's Inside? 2

 Wecome back to "What's Inside?"!

But this is part two.

So far: I get a big box with my name on it. Once opened, I ask Shripradhaa to see what is inside. She goes in. But never comes out. So I go in, and... Read on!

For a moment, all I saw was a blinding flash. And now, currently, Shripu and I are in an illusion. There are only spirals everywhere, and we seem to be going SUPER slow. And of course, "we seem to be going" refers to "we are falling".

And probably after hours, we suddenly speed up - we're falling at top speed now - BAM! There's the flash again and - thud - we've fallen somewhere. Somewhere.... But where?

This feels like no where, because we are somewhere, and somewheres are always no wheres to people who haven't been to somewheres before. Anyways, it is a no where because there isn't anything. Anything except - black.

But I feel solid ground - and I feel a head - belonging to Shripu - and something else - but what is that something else? I feel a ball - floating ball - and something as soft as fur - wings, I suppose - and a little opening, which should be its mouth - AAAH!

What am I feeling? How can a ball have a mouth - or wings? Perhaps it isn't a ball at all? Perhaps - perhaps it's a chick or something? What is the something?!!

I hear some sort of a buzz - and an artificial purr - and then - who is that talking? Is it one of Shripradhaa's fake voices? What is that squeaky voice?

"Hello, weary traveller," the voice said. "This place isn't for you. So kindly go back to where you came from."

"Go back to where you came from"? Hmm... Does it mean - the box? Well, what was in that box? This world, which is a no where?

Uh, what if the no where was in that box? Wait… what if that was - a secret portal?

"Uh, hi" I said weakly to the voice. "We just found a box at our doorstep, and we just got into it to see what was in there. What is this place?"

I heard a gasp. The sqeaky voice is starting again.

"You - you - AH! You are a lucky child! You recieved the Parcel of Privacy!"

I didn't know what the voice meant.

"The Parcel of Privacy must be discovered only by the child whose name is on the box. Well - when you meant "we", you didn't refer to any one else, except you, did you?"

I gaped. And gaped. Shripu too was quite stunned. "Uh - well," I am beginning, "My sister came along."

"Your sister is how much years old?"

" Four."

"Ah, good then. Now you must be wondering, what is the Parcel of Privacy? Well, the Parcel of Privacy is a big parcel given only to children who have the sense of keeping secrets. Those children are wisely selected by our Minister, Paric, who is instructed by our ruler, The Queen of Privacy. But, those children must also have the sense of magic and mysteries, and they must be stupid enough to believe in magic and fantasies. This land is often dark when someone comes here, because we don't want the wrong people coming here. So, I just say my usual welcoming catchphrase, the thing I said at first. So now that you and your sister have been verified, the lights will turn on."

And there is the flash again. Shripu and I were horribly stunned. So! It is a secret portal, and this is a land which is a somewhere, but also a no where, only because it is no where in the place we live in.  Yes! I knew magic like this existed!

Why don't you come to the 3rd part to know what else happens in this world - perhaps, the land of privacy!

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
