What's Inside? 1

Ding Dong! Wow ! The bell ringing at 9 o' clock! The milk and the newspaper have been delivered, but what could it be now? I open the door, but to my biggest surprise.....

What is this big box doing at my doorstep? What did I order? Probably it has been delivered in the wrong place.....

Oh, no! It has my name boldly printed on it, without the smallest of mistakes. What is it? Let me heave it in... Oh! How.... Heavy! Ah, thank you, Shripradhaa! You really come in handy. Now, what do we have here?

Thank you for handing me the scissors, Shripu. Let's cut it open! Of course, only the tape which has sealed the box. Oof! It is too hard to open this box! I mean, cut the tape. Oh! Thank you for the blade, Shripu. Eeeeeeeee..... This is impossible! I give up. AAH! What are these, barber scissors? You want me to cut the tape with these?

Oh, all right. If you insist. Eeehhh..... THAT IS IT! I give up! No, I'm not trying with plyers or chainsaws now, I give up. You try all you want to, Shripradhaa, but I give up!

I kick the box. But.... WHAT?!!! The box topples over and falls down! How can a heavy box topple not to a pull but a lame kick?

And you won't believe it... IT JUST OPENED! I used scissors, a blade..... And even barber scissors, but would you believe it? It opens to a topple! How unbelievable!

Ah, thank you for helping me lift up the box, Shripu. Ahahahaha! What is that bright, white glow which is coming from this box? Perhaps it is a bright LED light? Don't think I'm stupid, but what if it's a solar panel? Or probably a night light which is soooooo bright and will never stop glowing?

I can't feel anything inside. It's big enough for Shripu to fit in. In fact, it is big enough even for me to fit in. So, why not let Shripu get inside and see what's there?

Ah, she has gone. And I'm waiting. And waiting. Ho! Seems like forever! Let's see what she's doing. Lemme get in..... AHHHHHHHH!

Why don't you come back in Part 2 to know what happened to Shripu and I?

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
