The Solar System - And details

We all know that we live in Planet Earth. But have you ever wondered, where is this Earth? Yes, we all know that the Earth is in Outer Space.

Now, we live in houses and streets which have specific names. But if Earth lives somewhere, the place it lives in should have a name, right? The Earth lives in its house, which is known as the Solar System. It lives in the street known as Milky Way Galaxy, or Akash Ganga (Indian name).

We have our family by our side, at our home, but have you ever wondered, does the Earth have a family?

Yes, quite so. It has one twin, 6 cousins and one grandfather:

Twin Mars

Cousin Mercury

Cousin Venus

Cousin Jupiter

Cousin Saturn

Cousin Uranus

Cousin Neptune

Grandfather Sun

As you know, once upon a time, Earth and Mars were identical twins. But Mars didn't like being blue, so he somehow changed himself.

Cousin Mercury, or Mercury, was Sun's first pet.

Cousin Venus, or Venus, was very bright in class (you know what I mean, don't you?).

Cousin Jupiter, or Jupiter, was the biggest of them all, though he was the 4th youngest.

Cousin Saturn, or Saturn, is talented in Ballet. But she also Hoola Hoops.

Cousin Uranus, or Uranus, is always icy cold. Sun is still trying to find out why, but Uranus just won't let him near him.

Cousin Neptune, or Neptune, is so crazy that he spins awkwardly.

Grandfather Sun, or Sun, is very hot, and feeds everyone. He feeds Earth and Mars the right amount, but too much or too less to the others because they are either too close or too far.

These Planets have particular places in their house, you can see it from the diagram below:

The house is kind of awkward, isn't it?

Well, that's because they're planets and not humans.

The Milky Way Galaxy Street has neighbouring streets. Scientists from Earth have made researches and found out that their is a neighbouring Galaxy.... I mean, street, called Andromeda.

Now, if you are such a space nerd, tune in for more Scientific and.... "spacific" posts.

Bye!!

And don't forget that Earth likes eating Oxygen, Nitrogen Carbon dioxide and....

More gases!

P.S - There is a friend called Pluto who lives in the Solar System...... And Earth's closest friend called Moon who keeps lingering near Earth....

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
