Finally!!!

Finally! After 1 and a half years, we are allowed to say hello to our dear friends and teachers!

Guess what, I went to school today! It's 1 and a half years since I went to my beloved school.

I'd like to share with you what it was like at school.

First, let's just talk about the past.

You know how fun it was those days? We don't even have to care about social distancing, colds or fever.

We just enjoy our time.

I wondered if I could put the activities that happened in school into words. And that too, I'm going to write about what happened today.

I was late. But when I reached the actual atmosphere of school, I saw 3 men in front of me. The first man checked my temperature and the other one sanitized my hands. The last man guided me inside.

There was a woman who guided me to my class, 4D.

As I entered, I saw my teacher writing on the Smart Board with her stylus. She ordered me to sit behind a boy. No one was behind me. I saw my best friends.

I was sitting in the middle row, while my besties sat on the last row.

I had to write the HCF sums in my classwork. My math teacher had to take online and offline students. They call it Hybrid.

As the virus was present in the air, we were all wearing masks. I was wearing double masks for extra protection. I was the only one wearing uniform. The others were in colour dresses.

The History teacher was in for Hybrid classes. It was a test. The others would be doing the test in forms, while we have a writing test.

Miss posted the assignment for the online students, and she showed the offline students a Word Document in the Smart Board. It was a test paper, we had to write it.

However, we weren't able to complete the test and she promised us that we'll be continuing this tomorrow.

The break was actually taken away by History miss, and the Tamil period started. We learnt Thiruppavai.

The Arts period was skipped, so Tamil miss gave us a colouring paper. The online Arts class was also skipped, so, the principal took the classes for the online students,  she was also our science teacher.

And with this, school ended.

I enjoyed but actual school is better.

Wondering when this virus goes away.

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
