🙏🙏Hello... Happy kaarthigai Deepam... This year, kaarthigai Deepam is coming on Monday. We celebrate kaarthigai Deepam to fight all bad thoughts. On kaarthigai Deepam, we get up early in the morning, have a hair bath, pray to god and celebrate the festival. Evening, we light lamps, pray to god and celebrate. We light "Kutthu Vilakugal" and "Agal Vilakugal". We then eat sweets made by our mom. The sweets are made with "Aval" and "Pori". I love kaarthigai Deepam!!🙏🙏

  Here is a story that all of us might know... Svayambu Manu was the son of Bramha and a part of Hari. He had two sons, Uttanapada and Priyavarta. When Uttanapada grew up, he had two queens. One was named Suruchi, and the other, Sunithi. Suruchi had a son called Uttama and Sunithi had a son called Dhruva. As the king likes Suruchi more, he often takes Uttama on his lap.  One day, Dhruva ran to the king and sat on his lap. Immediately, Suruchi pushed him off. "You have no rights to sit on the king's lap! If you want to, you better pray to god." Said Suruchi angrily. Dhruva went crying to his mother. "She's right dear. The king likes her more and that is why Uttama is allowed to sit on his lap. Maybe you should go to the forest and meditate." Said Sunithi. So, Dhruva set off for the forest. The king was worried about Dhruva. On the way, Dhruva met Naaradha. Naaradha asked, "Dear Dhruva, where are you going?" Dhruva replied, "I am going to medita...

 This is a very important story from the Bhagavatam... Svayambhuvamanu had a daughter, who was Devahuti, and Devahuti married Kardama who was a sage. Devahuti gave birth to a boy called Kapila. He was a partial incarnation of God. One day, Kardama went out for tapas. Kapila's mother asked, "As you are god himself, please tell me, how could I come out of this worldly attachment release?" Kapila replied, "Mother, there are three gunas, Satva gunam, Tamo gunam and Rajo gunam. Satva gunam is good, Tamo gunam is lazy and Rajo gunam is anger. We should always follow Satva gunam. We should always have devotion towards god. We should have Bhakthi towards god. We should always think of God. We should see god in everyone.  Then, we realise the Supreme being, Lord Vishnu."  Actually I didn't understand this chapter. So I asked my mom and she explained. Just remember this, whenever someone scolds you, for a mistake that you've not made, don't feel too much. God ...

Here's another story from the Bhagavatam which is about the gate keepers of Vishnu... Bhrama had four sons, Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana and Sanatkumara. They were great rishis even though they were young. There were two gatekeepers of Vishnu who were called Jaya and Vijaya. One fine day, the young rishis entered Vaikuntha. Jaya and Vijaya were angry to see the rishis enter without their permission. So, Jaya and Vijaya blocked the rishis with their spheres. The rishis got angry and put a curse on them. They said, "You two will become rakshasas!" Hearing this, Vishnu ran outside. Jaya and Vijaya begged for apologies. "Don't worry, you'll have to be born as rakshasas only three times, and then you'll return to me." Said Vishnu.  They were born as Hiranyaksha - Hiranyakashipu in Satya yuga and as Ravana-Kumbhakarna in Treta Yuga and Sisupala - Dantavaktraa in Dvapara yugam. 

Hi, I am reading a Bhagavatam book. I'd like to share with you some of the stories from Bhagavatam.  Parikshit was the son of Abimanyu. Parikshit became the king. One day, Parikshit went hunting and saw a sage meditating. He asked him if he wanted some fruits and flowers. But the sage did not reply. So, Parikshit put a dead snake around the sage's neck and left. The sage's son was very angry to see a dead snake around his father's neck. He said, "Who ever has put this dead snake around my father's neck will be bitten by the snake Takshaka and will die in a week." The sage immediately opened his eyes and said to his son, "You fool! Whom you've cursed is the great king Parikshit who took care of our country very well. Who will do a job like that?" Then, king Parikshit heard about the curse and was very sad. Everybody gathered around him. A wise Rishi called Shukadeva passed by and saw this. He then told the story of the Bhagavata.

Happy Diwal! Today is diwali. Why do we celebrate diwali? In north India, they celebrate diwali because lord Rama came back from 14 years exile. And in South India...... A long time ago, there was an evil rakshasa, son of Krishna and Satya bhama, who was called Narakasura. He defeated everybody, and nobody can win a battle with him. One day, everyone rushed to lord Krishna and cried for help. Lord Krishna agreed and took Satya bhama with him. Krishna and Satya bhama finally defeated Narakasura and lived happily ever after. And such big story, that's why we celebrate Deepavali. At evening, we do special Gubera Lakshmi Pooja. Next day we count the coins and keep them away. Nov 14th Deepavali, let's all celebrate it happily!!
