Let's get started.
Pick the next line:
You mean I need to choose?
You'll do just fine -
That is NOT true -
Whatever, pick the next -
I CANNOT DECIDE.
I mean why not?
That's my flawed side.
Oh, ambiguous, are we?
Sure, just pick a line for me.
Is this turning into a poem?
It better be!
Why can't you decide on one answer?
What if one is better than the next?
Don't think too much about possible blunders -
That is exactly why I fret.
You can't not have an opinion -
But that's how it is.
You should really change -
It's not my fault I'm indecisive.
Think about it,
I'm used to heat, but at the moment
I can use some cool
But I can survive in the Sahara if I have to
But I'll suffer in cold rooms, I might even solidify
But now, the heat is a bit hard to bear
But I'm afraid, the AC might get too extreme -
ALRIGHT, I understand, it's pretty hard to choose,
But really, if you think more, you don't need any more clues,
Just follow what you want, what you need and what you think
What's right enough - that should do the trick.
I want cool, but I guess I need the heat
I think of both - are they not enough, or too much?
Alright, don't stress out -
I just have one thing to ask.
How would you like to end this musing?
...
Like, with an inspiring punch, or a rhyme,
Or a funny twist, or a cliff hanger?
Enlightening won't fit this theme,
And how do I rhyme without a scheme?
A funny twist, can think of none,
A cliff hanger - what have you done?
They're all too much - yet not enough,
They fit too well - yet not at all,
The world just couldn't fit me here,
It has too much, yet too less,
Everything, but nothing.
Choosing just one is like
Giving up the other,
But choosing the other is like
Giving up the first.
I can't just pick one -
It's either everything, or nothing -
Never just one.
Oh my god!! What a fantastic poem , kannama!!! It is absolutely brilliant ! The best part is - I could take this as a conversation between any two polar opposites, and it would 100% make sense! Between the stubborn and steadfast Cancerian vs the Indecisive Libran? Yes! Between the heart and the brain? Absolutely ! Between the teenage daughter and Middle Aged mother ? Definitely!
ReplyDeleteIt is a very very clever poem da kunju!! Am amazed that you could conceive this at such a young age !! Lovely ❤️
Loads and loads of love ,
Shyam aunty
You have treasure of words within you. What a thought ! What a flow! Wonderful poem in the form of dialogue between two minds within us. Still you give a message as usual "follow what you want, what you need, what you think, what's right enough"
ReplyDeleteIt shows your strong words Shriyandhaa. I enjoyed your this poem very much.

What should I do after reading this piece. If I appreciate the intrinsic worth of these play of words very cleverly encapsuling the philosophy The Vedhas succinctly put, I may sound rhetoric. If I leave myself wondering without registering a single word, I'll be considered sinfully dormant. What should I do Shri? - RAMANI, Srirangam
ReplyDeleteThe conversation between two minds..... incredible. Wowee and the final message is the turning point.. At this tender age ,how could you write like this. God bless you shriyandha

Yes, this is not just musings.
ReplyDeleteLet everyone have their "CHOICE" whether to be uni-polar.
.
But then self deniel of choices won't allow even a course correction.
Really thought provoking.
We can only say, let everyone decide to be choosy or not.😃😃
