The Dark

Looking like the point of doom,

Swallowing the empty, cold room.

Supposedly featuring monsters and beasts,

Don't encounter it, or you might end up as

Its feast.

Once you enter, your elation retreats,

Replaced by the dark seethe.

Producing sounds, that might shatter your wits,

And once you turn on the lights, it is shredded

To bits.

Late in the night, when you're up for some water,

The darkness is there to kill and slaughter.

Creatures in empty corners sleep and hide,

As the darkness deepens, and it you cannot

Abide.

The darkness will scare you, but fight it back,

Here's the trick, to bite at its back.

Embrace the beasts, laugh at its feats,

And with that smile on your face, the darkness

Will retreat.

  2. Fine. Darkness goes out of mind if you surrender to ummachi Thatha as He guide you to light of glory, peace and happiness. Darkness is not permanent. It is temporary. Once light comes, even the shade of Darkness will fade out. Keep on writing. Keep it up.

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
