Be Thankful to God

Sometimes, you feel sad when you don't get enough attention. Sometimes, you feel sad when you're left out. I feel the same sometimes too. Everybody feels the same sometimes too. Everybody, means even God.

God is powerful and uses it for our own good. He minimizes the price you need to pay, pain you need to take, all the time. He follows the rule of Karma, but always gives it to you in the lowest form.

We offer prayers to God everyday as a word of thanks for a wonderful family, home, etc. God blesses us as we pray to Him, and makes life even better for us. He gives us all we ask for, He does whatever is comfortable for us, He makes life the way we want, in return for a prayer.

I don't know when I missed this, but God definitely didn't like the way I didn't thank Him, or He gave me a little pain because of Karma, or maybe because I have to pray to Him more. I understand my mistake and I won't do it. I fractured my leg on Saturday. But thankfully, it is not serious. Only because, God made it that way.

I have been praying everyday to God. Each time I look at the Ummachi Thatha picture in the room, He smiles at me. My leg is healing really fast. It's getting really better. Only because, God made it happen.

Once my leg is better, I'll run, jump, skip, walk, play and, thank God. I will always be thankful to Him, because God will always be there, at anytime you need Him, and He's only there to help.

  2. Excellent thinking about karma. You are too young to write about karma, but did a good job.

  3. Shriyandhaa!! Wisdom like this from a 10 year old!! Am floored ! But again , this is a result of your good Karmas only , isn’t it, that you can think so deeply !?!
Yes, we all carry our bags of Karma with us when we are born… they are accrued from all the lives that we’ve had so far , and at any point of time both the good and the bad karmas balance themselves out. When there is a slight imbalance on one side , it is balanced out accordingly. One’s wisdom lies in accepting things that comes one’s way as destiny ; rather than crying and cribbing , ‘Why me?’. It’s ironical, isn’t it, that many people think about ‘Why me?’ only when something untoward happens , and act all entitled when something good happens.
The best state of mind to be in is ‘Sukhadukhe same kritva, labhalabhao, jayajayao’ - roughly translated as : To accept happiness, sadness, profit, loss, victory and defeat with the same aplomb.
I see that you are viewing this whole episode in the right way. I would also like to tell you that never for once think that the Almighty ‘punished’ you because you lacked in your devotion somewhere . God loves all His children unconditionally.
I am confident that with your will to get well soon, and the undying efforts that your parents are putting in to take you to the best doctors, and of course , Ambal’s blessings, you will bounce back really soon. I wish you a very speedy recovery Kannama! Loads of love to you ❤️

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
