Shripradhaa

I don't know if you can read this,

But I'm writing this for you,

I hope you will like it

I hope this will work for you.

Though you can upset me,

You can also cheer me

Without you, what will I do?

I love you so much, see?

And now today you grow up

But I don't want you to,

I want you to stay who you are;

Cheeky, loved and cute.

But the biggest help you do to me,

Day and night, dusk and dawn

You entertain me always,

Happiness you spawn.

You turn the dark into the light

You mend the times of serious plight

You hurl light all around

You turn our sad frowns upside down...

Whatever happens,

You'll be there for me

Whatever happens,

You'll let me free,

No matter what I do

I know you'll be with me through and through

No matter what you do

I will always love you!

I wish you happy birthday,

You're turning 5 years old,

5 stars for Shripu,

You're the one with silver and gold.

But even if you grow,

My intentions for you will not be strewn

I will still love you so,

And to me, only me,

You will always be,

My darling Shripu 😘🥰😊♥️

  1. Oh Shriyandhaa! You have captured the essence of sisterly love so beautifully with your words! Yes, sisters are truly the best ! You have your own personal best friend for life , right there !! When you both grow up, you would have so many stories to tell about your childhood to anyone and everyone you meet!! And , let me tell you this - you have another big responsibility as an elder sister! The younger ones always seek validation from their elder sibling for each and everything they do!
Happiest of birthday to li’l Shripradhaa, and happiest of sisterhood to both of you, for life!!

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
