Kuchelar Dinam

From minute pieces of flattened rice,

Arises a Palacial, grandiose house.

Listen to this story about a meaningful prize

Given to Suddhama by God Krishna, of course.

Suddhama and Krishna have been together,

In their lone Gurukulam school.

Together they played, together they made,

They made life a happy pool.

But turns out, Suddhama is poor,

And has hardly any money to spare.

"Ask for some help," his wife said,

So of he went, under the Sun's hot flares.

All day and night, he travelled far,

With a small rag pouch of flattened rice.

He walked and walked, until he heard the talks,

Of faraway guards, not so nice.

He finally reached, and as he was about to enter,

The guards refuse his enterance.

"I am innocent, I am Krishna's friend!"

But they will not let him enter.

But Krishna appears, to greet him inside,

With a big, warm hug.

"What do you have for me?" He asked nicely,

As Suddhama hid the pouch.

"Oh, flatened rice!" Krishna cried,

Grabbing the pouch from Suddhama.

As He and Rukmini ate and ate,

Listen to what happened at the house of Suddhama!

The house slowly started to widen,

And grow and grow and grow.

And then it brightened, and became beautiful,

And his children were surprised so.

Suddhama returned, forgetting to ask for help,

Forgetting his family's cries.

But what he saw made his mouth fall open:

A palace reaching the sky!

So today, we give flattened rice to God Krishna,

Believing that He will bless us like He blessed Suddhama!

Remember,God knows what is right for us.He gives anything and everything which we are worthy of. Suddhama was asked to ask Krishna for help, but he did not. He became extremely happy when he saw Krishna and Rukmini enjoying the flattened rice, thus in the joy, he forgot his difficulties. But he was blessed with what he needed without asking.

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Behind The Mask

Behind the clouds  Is the hidden sky, so far, Behind the plasters, A nasty scar, Behind the curtains,  Are bright windows  But behind a mask - It is not for show. Not until you tumble into the trap,  Stay trapped there, in disguised gloom  Without realising it - And then go deeper and deeper  To discover what really looms. Then realisation strikes - How they behaved, how they feigned The hidden meaning behind every wave  You've found it. And the rage, You try to stifle it with much courage, But instead, burn down the page, And whoops - that leads you to your cage. But in the end, the mask is gone - To reveal an atrocity, so from it begone Don't explain, on its own will it dawn - Upon others, just the way it did on you - Ignore their every scorn. Just wait for their mask to be openly torn.

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
