Golu - Season 3 - Ep. 6

Ep. 6 - Books Can Help

Hello everyone! Welcome back! Today, we'll just look into a sloka. This is the Sharada Stotram, very small. I'm doing it on account of the 2nd Day of Saraswati.

Namasthe Sharade devi, Kashmeera pura Vasini,

Thwam aham prathaye nithyam, vidhya dhanam cha dehi may. 1

Ya Shradha, dharana medha, vagh devi vidhi vallabha,
Bhaktha jihwagra sadhana shamadhi guna dhayini. 2

Namami Yaminim nadha lekha alankrutha kunthalam,
Bhavaneem bhava santhapa nirvapana sudha nadheem. 3

Bhadra kalyai namo nithyam sarasvathyai namo nama,
Veda vedanga vedantha vidhya sthanebhya eva cha. 4

Brahma swaroopa paramaa jyothi roopa sanathani,
Sarva vidhyadhi devi ya thasyai vanyai namo nama. 5

Yaya vinaa jagat sarva sasva jeevan mrutham bhaveth,
Jnanadhi devi ya thasyai saraswathyai namo nama. 6

Yaya vinaa jagat sarvam mooka munmathavad sadaa,
Ya devi vaghadhishtathri thasyai vanyai namo nama, 7

That's it!

Oh, and we have 3 kolams today!

The Lakshmi is what my mother made. And the Namam and all of that, by Shripu. (It was actually made day before yesterday for puratasi Sani kizhamai🤭)

And lastly, the flower-looking one was made by me. My mother just helped me touch up on it, like the borders and all of that.

Okay! I'll see you tomorrow, in Episode 7!

Behind The Mask

Behind the clouds  Is the hidden sky, so far, Behind the plasters, A nasty scar, Behind the curtains,  Are bright windows  But behind a mask - It is not for show. Not until you tumble into the trap,  Stay trapped there, in disguised gloom  Without realising it - And then go deeper and deeper  To discover what really looms. Then realisation strikes - How they behaved, how they feigned The hidden meaning behind every wave  You've found it. And the rage, You try to stifle it with much courage, But instead, burn down the page, And whoops - that leads you to your cage. But in the end, the mask is gone - To reveal an atrocity, so from it begone Don't explain, on its own will it dawn - Upon others, just the way it did on you - Ignore their every scorn. Just wait for their mask to be openly torn.

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
