Helloooo!!! Welcome back!
Happy Diwali!
Wait... What do I mean - Diwali? What does that even mean?
Diwali is the festival of lights. It is a Hindu festival celebrated in North and South India.
But why do we celebrate it? There are 2 theories - one for the North Indians, one for the South Indians.
The North Indians celebrate Diwali because of the return of Lord Rama from exile. They light lamps and celebrate. Now they've just altered it with crackers.
The South Indians celebrate Diwali because of the death of Narakasura, an Asura who was defeated by Lord Krishna. Narakasura agreed on the people, happily celebrating his death by eating sweets and lighting lamps.
How we can have an eco-friendly Diwali - We can reduce the amount of crackers and instead light lamps. The smoke from crackers harms the Ozone Layer. We need the Ozone Layer to avoid the harmful UV Rays from the Sun. So, we can protect the Ozone Layer by bursting few crackers; not so much.
Happy Diwali everyone! Enjoy!
And tune in tomorrow for a surprise!
(...in fact, there are 2 surprises...)
