Golu - Season 3 - Ep. 5

 Ep. 5 - Shri Stuti

Hello everyone! Welcome back!

Now, in this post, probably things will get over as soon as it starts.

I don't have much to explain - today, we will look into Shri Stuti - a Sloka written by Swami Desikan, when he encountered a situation similiar to the Kanakadhara stotram.

A poor bhramachari boy was seeking money for his marriage and people guided him to Swami Desikan knowing very well he himself did not have money and he will be ashamed when somebody asks him for money. So this boy approached Swami Desikan unknowingly and asked for help.

Swami Desikan took him to Perundevi thayar sannidhi in Kanchipuram and recited the Shri Stuti and Mahalakshmi thayar poured her Grace in the form of gold coins and the boy was immensely awestruck and fell at Swami Desikan's feet.

I am adding a few lines from the sloka below.

See? I told you it'll get over as soon as it starts!

Oho! But the problem is, it hasn't ended just yet. We have to look into the Kolam!

I made it. It's Goddess Lakshmi.

Okay everyone! It's over! Today's episode was probably short. It's seems as though I'm in a big hurry, but no, I'm not in a hurry. Just, well.... Nothing!

Okay so bye! See you tomorrow!!!

Comments

  1. Mahalakshmi in the kolam form is very good. Pl give the story behind the Sristuthi by Vethantha Desikar. Also pl complete the slokam . Good attempt that you choose the two main slokam on Lakshmi 1. Kanakadhara slokam and 2. Sristhuthi

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Behind The Mask

Behind the clouds  Is the hidden sky, so far, Behind the plasters, A nasty scar, Behind the curtains,  Are bright windows  But behind a mask - It is not for show. Not until you tumble into the trap,  Stay trapped there, in disguised gloom  Without realising it - And then go deeper and deeper  To discover what really looms. Then realisation strikes - How they behaved, how they feigned The hidden meaning behind every wave  You've found it. And the rage, You try to stifle it with much courage, But instead, burn down the page, And whoops - that leads you to your cage. But in the end, the mask is gone - To reveal an atrocity, so from it begone Don't explain, on its own will it dawn - Upon others, just the way it did on you - Ignore their every scorn. Just wait for their mask to be openly torn.

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
