S Scientists - Chapter 16

Chapter 16 - Meeting Lolly

As the 4 walked up and down, Shreya's bulb flashed. "Don't you remember the old woman, who once helped us defeat Seasea, the sea serpent? I bet she's somewhere near the Old Deed Lane," Saketh agreed, and they all walked into the lane, and spotted a moss-covered house. It had faded words - OLD LOLLY'S SWEET HOME. "I think the woman's name is Lolly Pop. So let's go in," said Saketh. "It seems more like a swamp home than a sweet home," thought Samhitha. They went in. The door was half broken. There was moss water in the floor. The house was covered with moss and cob webs. There was a kitchen, a bathroom, a hallroom and a bedroom. The kitchen was empty, but it had cockroaches all over. Samhitha and Shreya tried not to squeal.

Next was the bathroom. It was very little, but was super dark. There seemed to be a cat sleeping next to the toilet. Next they visited the hallroom. The table was broken, and there was a torn sofa. Next to it stood a screen less TV, where all kinds of insects lay. They finally went to the bedroom. There was a bed, with no cushions and blanket. Next to it was a rickety table. It was dusty and mossy. Then suddenly, a dark creature came from under the bed. "I bid you welcoming, unknown visitors," the creature croaked. Everyone, including Saketh squealed.

From under, there came a moss covered creature. "Swamp! Run for your lives!" Samhitha shouted. The creature then shook itself and said, "I'm not a swamp! I'm Lolly! And you must be the S Team. Need any help?" Said Lolly with a grin. Shreya nodded and told Lolly the reason of help. Lolly then led them to a chamber where a crystal ball was placed on a neat table, but the surroundings were dirty. "I see a vision! Of the present! But no one else, except me, can see this vision!" Lolly said, in a rather spooky voice. "What's the vision?" Asked Samhitha eagerly. "The vision, it is...." Lolly said. "Hi Ho looking through a computer!" Everyone's eager face dropped. What? How could this help? "Excuse me, Lollypop head, how do you think this can help? Are you stupid?" Saketh asked growing angry. "Don't talk to her like that!" Shreya whispered.  Lolly laughed. "Don't interrupt before I finish, young lad. Hi Ho has set up secret cameras all over the world. Wherever you go, Hi Ho will know what you're up to. But he won't know about the vision, and so, please be aware.

"I think I've helped lots, so it's time for my nap. Now it's all to you, scientists. But beware, Hi Ho's plans are not lame. They'll trick you, poison you, and there's no way you're gonna get outta his hair. Only a wise one's plan can save you, my dears," Lolly said, and left for the mossy bedroom. Saketh once again thought hardly about the words Lolly had said. He had an idea. An amazing idea. A charming idea. An idea which will spare their lives.

Clouded

Every night, I bring myself  To stare up at the sky -  But turn back home, with a frown on my face, Clouds blocking stars, showing wry.  Every morning, I peek out the window  To marvel at the sea above - But turn away, losing hope,  Cotton figures, masking what I love.  Every time I see the clouds,  I curse them, with all might,  They don't deserve to be up there,  Ruining the bright days and starry nights.  And one day, the clouds finally went away,  And I stargazed in much peace.  But suddenly, the sky felt a bit empty -  Although dotted by the stars, without fake fleece. In the mornings, the sun burnt the pavements -  And something inside me missed watching  The white shapes that merrily float past -  I didn't realise they had much meaning.  Though much couldn't be seen, they brought A wholesome feeling - that you probably can't see -  You only can, when one day,  The clouds decide t...

Eclipsed

Moon:  I shine every night  Though, once a month, I take a break  But I'm seen regularly,  And it's not a big deal.  Few stop by  To marvel at me.  But what about the others -  Can they even see? And tonight is the night  A shadow shall be cast upon me  I hope no one notices -  My brief moments without glory.  Oh, but who am I kidding?  Of course, when I'm humiliated  In the vast night sky  Just me, and an eery shadow upon me  That  That is when the humans  Choose to gaze at me.  And then, to say I am weak And I'm always overruled by  The sun, and shadows, and clouds?  That is not fair.  But the truth that the moon does not know  Is that our little downfalls  Are what define us.  They're the little things that make us  Better - Perfection isn't a thing; but realism is.  Someone who is perfect cannot be likeable - But someone with flaws has more pe...

What it really feels like, being indecisive.

Let's get started.  Pick the next line:  You mean I need to choose?  You'll do just fine -  That is NOT true -  Whatever, pick the next -  I CANNOT DECIDE .  I mean why not?  That's my flawed side.  Oh, ambiguous, are we?  Sure, just pick a line for me. Is this turning into a poem?  It better be!  Why can't you decide on one answer?  What if one is better than the next?  Don't think too much about possible blunders -  That is exactly why I fret.  You can't not have an opinion -  But that's how it is.  You should really change -  It's not my fault I'm indecisive.  Think about it, I'm used to heat, but at the moment  I can use some cool But I can survive in the Sahara if I have to But I'll suffer in cold rooms, I might even solidify  But now, the heat is a bit hard to bear  But I'm afraid, the AC might get too extreme -  ALRIGHT, I understand, it's pretty hard to ...
