S Scientists - Chapter 13

Back at Chennai - Chapter 13

After a while, Shripradhaa and Samhitha were asleep, while Shreya was eyeing Saketh closely. An hour later, a sweet fragrance woke the two girls. The maid had served Shreya three cups of hot tea, and a tasty black forest cake. The delicacy filled Samhitha and Shreya with happiness, and they forgot all about Saketh's queer behavior. Shripradhaa, of course, already was happy.

After a few hours the plane landed safely at the Chennai airport. Samhitha and Shripradhaa started to whoop while Shreya and Saketh remained calm and silent. Shreya gave a sigh of relief as they entered the taxi. The driver steered towards the S Team's house, and dropped them. Saketh payed the cash, and suddenly gave a frown at the three girls. "Stop being lazy and get to work!" he said, pointing towards the lab.

Samhitha groaned, while Shreya remained half happy and half sad. She was happy as Saketh was normal again, but was sad that they had to continue with their relentless and unending work.

Saketh and his team were soon in their scientific clothes and entered the lab. Saketh then tested the tablets they had made before they came to Delhi and found out that there was a major error. "And the major cause of this error is you!" Samhitha said tauntingly. Saketh then groaned and said, "Here we go again.". They took a while to finish it, and as soon as they did, they tested it on an old robot sample they had once made.

Nothing really seemed to happen, except for the little gag the robot gave. "Maybe the robot made that sound because it was bitter?" Shreya thought. Saketh then packed the medicines, left for the C.M's house, and finally rung the bell. The C.M gave a frown at them. "Maybe they are here to give me a sorry gift for what they did? Maybe it carries sweets? Or maybe a new cell phone? A new Apple cell phone?" He thought. Saketh handed the bag, and said sorry. The C.M was delighted and imagined about many delightful gifts, but all his thoughts faded as soon as he saw the medicine.

"I will test this and let you know," He said. "But if this fails, I'm afraid you may have to stop making items which fall in the same category." Saketh and his team went back home, waiting for a reply from the C.M.

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
