S Scientists - Chapter 6

The day has come!! - Chapter 6

The S Team went to sleep early that night, as their flight was tomorrow early morning.

The next day started with Saketh opening his Tablet and viewing the Notification from Airlines.

"We are sorry, the flight has been cancelled for today because the pilot has personal work to be done. You will be taken to your destination by tomorrow. Flight Number - 6" the notification read.

Saketh and his Team were disappointed.

The rest of the day was spent by staying idle. "I'm not idle! I'm watching Diana and Roma on TV and that is a productive activity. You can also join me!" Said Shripradhaa, with her face fixed on the television.

"Don't worry Saketh, because we still have a flight to catch tomorrow!" Said Samhitha with a smile.

The evening had began and still the S Team were sitting on the sofa, idle. "We better have our dinner now," Said Saketh looking at the clock.

"What? It's only six, and I'm not at all hungry," Said Shreya with a grumpy face.

"If you want to catch the flight as soon as possible, you have to have dinner early and go to sleep early." Said Saketh strictly.

Dinner was served by Saketh, and the girls and Saketh munched on the yummy dosas. "Here comes curd rice!" Said Saketh with 4 big bowls.

"Oh, I thought you'd be serving something else," Said Shreya, quite worried. She's not fond of curd.

"Oh, worried about the time you'll take to eat?" Said Samhitha with a laugh. Shreya frowned.

By 7, everyone tucked in bed. "Ha, comfy cozy," Said Samhitha, pulling her blanket further, until she heard a loud snore. Saketh was snoring as loud as a gigantic giant.

Shripradhaa drifted to sleep, sucking her thumb. Shreya fell asleep as soon as Samhitha did.

Next morning, by 3 o' clock, Saketh's dreadful, old alarm clock shouted as if it was a loudspeaker. "BZZZ BZZZ! TIME TO WAKE UP!" Saketh and his Team woke up with a squeal.

"Saketh! How many times should we tell you that you should buy a new alarm clock?" Said Samhitha, rubbing her eyes. Everyone got out of bed and went into the bathroom. After a nice bath they had their early breakfast. They pulled their stuffed suitcases all the way down to the lobby. It was 4 in the morning and the flight would leave by half past four.

An orange coloured taxi was waiting for the S Team. They all got in and buckled their seatbealts and off they went to Airlines Airport!

Behind The Mask

Behind the clouds  Is the hidden sky, so far, Behind the plasters, A nasty scar, Behind the curtains,  Are bright windows  But behind a mask - It is not for show. Not until you tumble into the trap,  Stay trapped there, in disguised gloom  Without realising it - And then go deeper and deeper  To discover what really looms. Then realisation strikes - How they behaved, how they feigned The hidden meaning behind every wave  You've found it. And the rage, You try to stifle it with much courage, But instead, burn down the page, And whoops - that leads you to your cage. But in the end, the mask is gone - To reveal an atrocity, so from it begone Don't explain, on its own will it dawn - Upon others, just the way it did on you - Ignore their every scorn. Just wait for their mask to be openly torn.

So Close, Yet So Far

What you knew you had right beside you What you never knew might leave you What you had neglected for days What you wished was still there, within your gaze. That miniscule amount of hope  That you feel lingering close by You could open out your arms, embrace it, But suddenly it's high in the sky. Once within your grasp, But now away from you, Don't waste a moment on a wee gasp, Time won't stop, and the moving hope too. Each moment is to be caught, Each memory to be cherished, Hold them carefully in your arms, Before they shall vanish. The consistent inkling when you feel, Something close, yet so far, Is only because you know yourself, That it is within your grasp, but not within your confidence. If you're positive enough that you can hold it, The 'it' that is mysterious and something only you know, You can hold the precious 'it', Clutch it tight, don't let it go. You must be close to the end of the day, With its cliffs and slopes and Rocky slides,...

Stars

Shining in the vast night sky, I see them from afar. Dominated by the brighter moon, There glimmer the stars. Mostly hidden by the cruel shadows, Or by the thick, misty clouds. But they do not give up, they still glimmer on, They make their voice be heard loud. Even though they're hardly seen, Even though they're hardly thought of, They know that someday they will be, Thought of, honoured and loved. So take an inspiration from stars, Show your true essence, Continue to shimmer, ignore the darkness, Because one day it'll fear your presence.
