Ep3 Soundariya Lahari 3



Hello! Welcome back to Golu Season 2 and this episode features the 3rd Sloka of the Soundariya Lahari.  I'm sorry, I can't write all slokas within 10 days. So instead, I'll write the important ones. So some of us know Soundariya Lahari it is a great set of 100 slokas and it is written by Sri Adi Sankara Charya.



Hello friends! This is the start point. 

Here's the 3rd Sloka: 

Sloka 

Avidyaanaam antastimira-
Mihira-dveepanagaree
Jadaanaam chaitanya-stabaka- 
Makaranda stutijharee
Daridraanaam chintaamani 
Gunanikaa janmajaladhau 
Nimagnaanaam damshtraa 
Muraripuvaraahasya bhavati

Meaning

The dust of Your feet is like the city of the rising Sun removing the darkness from the minds of those ignorant ones, like the pollen dust from the bunches of flowers of the Kalpaka tree (Wish-yielding tree), conferring the Knowledge  of the Self (Atman) on those inert ones who lack discrimination,  like the heap of Chintaamani gems (which grant any desired wish) to the poor, and is like the canine teeth of Murari (Vishnu) who His incarnation  as Aadivaraaha  while rescuing Goddess Mother Earth from the bottom of the ocean , to those drowned in the ocean of births in this world . 



We've earned the time to rest and take a break. Let's see the Navratri Special Food for today! 


Mm... It's the common and yummy food, Sundal! It's Verkadillai Sundal. Tasty, eh? Dahl is Sundal in Tamil. Protein grains is Sundal in Tamil. You just need to add Salt, Spice and Kadugu to it to get yummy Sundal. 


The Navratri Special Kolam is Mavillai kolam.

    My namaskar to Ambal Durga on this 3rd Day . Iam delightful to read the sowndharya Lahari sloka with your explanation of the sloka.Great Post shriyandhaa. The sundal prasadam and kolam of today's special virtually a feast for the tongue and eyes. May Guruvayur appan bless you all
