She's cute, She's funny, She makes my days Sunny She's pretty, She's smart, My anger she will Thwart. She's here to joke around with you There's no exact way to describe her unique hue She's here to make sure you laugh all day She's here to share fun while you play. She's as cool as a cucumber, Never as cold as December. She's as bright as a button, Here to let sunshine flow through curtains. She lights the night Gives one whack to fright She's here to laugh at you  But make sure you laugh too! Who is she? My twin (Satvika!^^) and yes, I love her immeasurably, And she will always be the best of best.

The Tiresome Trip

During the past week, I had an amazing time at Srirangam. We went to many temples with my grandmother and grandfather. On the 3rd day of our trip, we went to a temple which was quite far away.  So we started off at 6 am, and I woke up at 5:30 am. After we climbed into the car and took our seats, my father started the car and we zoomed off, our car purring as it fed on the kilometres that passed. I was ready to snooze off in the car, as I had already woken up early, and, I did need to save energy for the exhausting day ahead. It's what my parents expected me to do too. My father drove, and my mom sat next to him with my sister on her lap. I sat in the back row with my grandparents. And I was in the middle. Just as my eyelids became heavy and were about to give up with the weight, my grandfather made sure to snap them back open by narrating a perfect story about a famous heavy electricals factory. He told me all about its manager, its workers, and the area it occupies. Even th...

My Mother

When I'm sad, When I'm mad, I have my mom To calm me down, One hug from her And then I'll pur My thanks to her Then settle in a land of fur. When she hugs me, I'm light-hearted, When she hugs me  My anger is thwarted, I love her so And she loves me back, No matter what, She'll always have my back. And I mean that literally, Because she's quite cuddly, When I'm sad or angry I'm in for huggies! She cooks spectacular food, Has a soft temper, She only does good And I love her! She's the best mom that One could ask for, Each time and the next, Her love for me is ALWAYS more.

My Typical Day

So this is what happens when me and my sister have an argument: While I'm just sitting where I am and minding my own business, carefully avoiding my sister's eyes, she just comes near me, brushes EVER so slightly against my shoulder and yells her head off, crying (or that's what others think) with ABSOLUTELY NO tears, and calling EVERYONE in the house to that room. And I'm turning my head in every direction to understand what was happening. Just then, my grandfather says his usual "Who's troubling the child?" line. And my father is yelling at me about teasing her. My grandmother is asking me to not poke my nose into her business, and my mom launches off into a BIG explanation about being a happy, loving sister. And when I TRY to tell them that I didn't do anything, I mean, like, ANYTHING, they tell me I'm arguing, talking back.  Hot lava and anger, ready to burst, bubbles inside of me when I keep telling them I didn't do anything, and they keep...

Things I Like to Hear My Mom Say

Even when I overcome the tiniest of tiny scrapes, I feel the need to obsess over it. And, by nature, the first thing I do is whine, and moan, to my mom about how PAINFUL it is. And oh, how VERY satisfying it is to hear her say: "It'll heal soon." Every morning, as soon as I wake up, I waddle towards my mom, half-asleep, expecting my every-morning hug, with a few kisses and praises. And only because of her sweet, bright, happy voice filling my mind do I wake completely. It is SO wonderful hearing her say: "Goodmorning sweetheart, silver, gold, diamond!" Each time my sister hurts me, or each time I get scolded by someone else, the only thing I want to do is go running towards my mom, complain to her about all my problems and hear her say: "Don't you worry now, I'll handle them!" I love showing any of my work to my mom. Regardless of how good or bad it is. It just feels right to show it to her. And yes, of course she's the person I'll sh...

Long Lost Sleep

After a long, exhausting day, the only thing all of us look forward to is SLEEP. So, as soon as you finish off the last crumbs on your dinner plate, you fling yourself onto your bed, rest yourself in a comfortable position, get your pillow nice and fluffed up, and throw the blankets on yourself. But then... You just realised that you still have your big, wobbly earrings on. So you throw back the blankets and remove your earrings and leave them in their box. And then you're back in your bed, and just as your eyelids are about to close... You realise that you haven't brushed your teeth. So, yet again, your throw back the blankets and get off the bed, letting the annoying, creaky sound fill your head. And then you throw open the door to your bathroom, get your brush ready and squeeze toothpaste onto it, but... The tube seemed to have a hole on the back, which you sadly hadn't noticed. And you get toothpaste all over your hands. Fuming, you wash your hands and get things done...
